Moms tend to pare down the claws when little kids are involved. So to make sure your nails are in great shape, I usually default to the SQUOVAL shape, mainly so I don’t knick the ends of the square. Well, and the oval/rounded look is never quite perfect and it will drive me absolutely insane.

Josie MaranWhen my cuticles start building up I usually slather them in Argan Oil (my favorite is Josie Maran) and use the end of my wishbone to push them down. The perfect time to cut your cuticles is Sunday Nights during the Football games. It’s a mind numbing activity that is incredibly relaxing. And plus, your man will think you’re totally watching the game with him…

I’m not particularly a huge fan of the emory buffer as my nails are already so weak that I feel like it just shreds layers I can’t afford to lose. I like to really massage my nails with Nailtiques cuticle and skin gel. It makes your hands really greasy, so you can’t do things like wash the dishes or fold laundry.

JULEPFor color, we love Julep’s color guide . It’s easy to follow, and the selection is amazing. I’m currently obsessing over “Chloe: It Girl.” Why? Because every Moxy woman is the “it girl,” and the color is gorgeous for all winter colors.

The most important part of winterizing your nails is really getting them used to the cold weather. My go-to for this prep is clutching to a nice cold glass of white wine. Not only do my nails get used to the cold grip, but they also get used to looking fabulous.
